Not sure who is more excited about it....Nick or the kids! Yep they were that family! They had to take it out for a test drive ya'll!
On our back home we decided to stop at the Animal shelter. Well, we came home with a cat. lol. But she is so cute. We named her Folly (ya know after Folly Beach ....near Charleston.) Blue and Rupp were out voted. Poor Sophie (our golden retriever who we love dearly. She is seriously the best dog ever) doesn't know what to think. Nor does the cat. In fact, she has hissed at poor Soph several times. But the 2nd day, Folly just walked past Sophie and gave her the evil eye! Any tricks to make cats and dogs get along. Folly seems really lovable. The kids like her. Meredith got upset though several times because she was scared the dog and cat were going to go at it. She even said before bedtime the first night maybe we shouldn't have gotten a cat. By Sunday, things improved and she didn't want to take the cat back. Guess we will see how it goes. Sophie will be the winner though. We all love her. Fingers crossed it all works out and we didn't lose our minds and make a bad decision.
Soccer season is still going on. Mere had a late game Saturday. After that it was home to relax for the rest of the evening. Sunday the weather was so nice after having rain so much lately. I took the kids to the park for a little bit. I may be the only one, but I love the idea of going to the park. But it always ends up with whiney kids (mine) or older kids who have no idea how to play around smaller ones. This usually leaves me fuming. I make sure to tell mine to be careful around little ones. For the most part they do a really good job. I also just want to sit and relax and read my book. But the kids are constantly yelling "come here" , "push me", "MOMMMMMYYYY"! Yes, I should focus on them. But sometimes momma needs a break too.
After the park we headed home for lunch and to relax. I picked up 4 hours in the evening at my old job (stayed on PRN. Gotta pay for Disney). Worked til 11p ...pray I am not exhausted for my regular shift today!! The alarm going off at 5:30 was like a dagger to the heart!
I can't believe the last day of school is Friday and I will officially have a 3rd grader on my hands. It goes so incredibly fast. Didn't we just start school?? I will admit 2nd grade was not a favorite and I am not sad to see it end (besides the fact that it puts her in 3rd grade). Then Memorial Day weekend will be upon us. Welcome Summer!!! I am going to do a summer bucket list! What is on your summer bucket list? Make it a great week friends!!
Some of our summer bucket lists items are camping, swimming, writing our new penpals from Australia, Coney Island, water balloon fights, drive in movies, Bday party planning & just having fun. Oh, and football practive starts in July.
