Friday Faves!

This Friday's Favorite thing has to be from this past Sunday! We celebrated Meredith's 8th birthday. I want each birthday to be a day to remember and for them to be made to feel special and loved. I let them pick what they want to do for the day. I love, love birthdays. Mine included (if only it didn't include getting a year older. Boo for that). I have a Christmas birthday, Dec. 17th. Now having a birthday at Christmas can be downright sucky. But I was blessed with parents who did all they could to make my day special. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized a Christmas birthday was not all it is cracked up to be!! I guess that is where my love of birthdays come from.

I asked Meredith the night before if she wanted me to make pancakes or if she wanted donuts. She chose donuts! Yum. We let Daddy sleep in and the birthday girl and I drove over to Cincinnati to Holtman's Donuts. I loved getting to spend the morning with just us. I think she loved the time as well.

Then later in the day we went to the movies and saw The Jungle Book (go see it. It was a great movie). She wanted to eat at Larosa's but since we were at Newport on the Levee we decided to eat at Dewey's (after getting approval from the birthday girl, of course ) followed by an hour at Game Works. Needless to say, by the time we got home we were all exhausted (and a 3 yr old who had several meltdowns from the movie ending to bedtime. Poor buddy was exhausted from the busy weekend. Not gonna lie, I could have had a meltdown or 2 as well. haha) But all in all a great day!!
