Weekend Whereabouts!

Why oh why does the weekend fly so fast?! The week drags and drags! Sunday evenings I tend to get a bit sad thinking about the grind that is about to happen again. So much to do and so little time to fit it all in. It's a rush from the time the alarm goes off until my head hits the pillow that evening. I know I need to slow down and enjoy it all, but sometimes it takes all I have. My head and thoughts go a mile a minute to match the rush on the outside. They are in a race most days! A little reminder here and there to breathe and realize how blessed I am. Like looking back on the fun weekend we had. I picked up an extra shift doing my old job on Friday. Loved seeing all my old work peeps. Which turned into a great photo op! Nurse Kim had a banner for us to take pics and then tag #smileforBrooklyn. Brooklyn is a little girl fighting brain cancer and loves seeing pics of people smiling for her!!

After work Friday, I came home and got the kids and my momma. She watched them for me since there was no school. We headed to Kenwood to do a little shopping. Mary Ann needed some new spring/summer updates and I wanted to hit up MAC cosmetics at Macy's and the Lilly store. The kids wanted Build a Bear.

Saturday started off at the soccer field. Meredith had a game in the afternoon. Her team rocked! They pulled off the W and Mere even had 3 goals!! After the game we decided to eat at Nick's fave, Red Lobster. But eating with 2 kids isn't always enjoyable. But they did a pretty good job of behaving. ...the best they could. lol. Then Sat. evening was the Father/Daughter Dance at St. Cecilia. Meredith said it was the best party ever! Nick even danced. I am a little shocked at that one. He can let loose. I loved seeing the 2 of them together and the excitement in Meredith's eyes. She is so lucky to have a daddy like him. He loves his girl! Max and I decided we would go to Target and Michael's. My date conked out on me on the ride home. He was out for the rest of the evening.

A dance calls for pretty nails and toes!!

Finally we have perfect Spring weather!! Glad it stuck around for Sunday. Meredith had her pictures
done in her First Communion Dress in Covington. I can't believe in 2 short weeks she will be making her First Communion. I feel like we just brought her home from the hospital and she was baptized. The days and years keep coming faster and faster. I wish it would slow down. I found Meredith's dress on Ebay. I wanted the classic dress from the 60's or 70's and found exactly what I was looking for on there. Ordered her veil from etsy. I need to find something of my dad's for her to carry especially since her first communion falls on the 7th anniversary of his passing. I attached a brooch to her dress that belonged to her great grandmother who passed away this past year. She thought a lot of her "pixie" girl. Denise sent me a few previews and they are gorgeous of my girl!! Nick was even able to stop down and see us!!  Ran a few errands and took the kids for pizza after. Is it bad to be counting down until next weekend? Planning a trip to Keeneland with my brother and sister in law.  One of my favorite spots and they have the best bloody Mary's! If we are lucky maybe we will even come home with some extra dollars!!

Sunday morning crafts! Found these shirts and markers at Michael's! Kids loved them.

Sophie! Enjoying her Sunday morning in her favorite spot!

                                                    Max found a friend.

Thank you to Denise who is always so patient with my crew! It's hard work getting smiles from them!!

Right before bedtime the kids heard the Kona Ice music. What's a mom to do except fork over some dollars. All worth it to see them smile!

And I can finally bust out the shorts and sandals!! Lilly and stripes are my favorite summer combo!

Here's to the start of a good week!!!
