Trying to Find my Willpower

I need to find my willpower and lose this baby weight.... Oh from 3 years ago! One day you can hear me saying "I can do this. I can lose this weight ." Then the next day it's "I don't give a crap. This is just the size I am going to be ." My goal is to lose 20 lbs. It doesn't seem like a lot, but to me it seems like 100 lbs. I need something that is easy. I need something I can still eat my favorite things (like wine. Let's be real. Wine is the key ingredient to surviving mommy hood!) and not feel like I am being restricted. So after talking to one of my momma friends from Mere's school, I decided to join Weight Watchers . She looks amazing and has had great success with it ! It will be nice to have someone to go to with my 101 questions! I did it after I had Meredith and it worked. Not sure why it's taking me so long this time to join again. I am one of those people that want instant gratification. I want to be 20 lbs. thinner tomorrow. Not next week, not 3 months from now or a year from now, but tomorrow people! Of course , I know it's not that simple.  Yesterday was my first day! I did okay through breakfast and lunch. But by the afternoon I was STARVING!! On my afternoon break at the hospital, I quickly sent a text to my friend asking for snack ideas because the carrots and cucumbers didn't cut it. Luckily she had some great ideas along with Pinterest. A lot of the stuff I already had on hand.

An added plus to losing weight is just the health benefits. I need to take care of myself in order to take care of my kiddos. My dad was a diabetic. He was diagnosed in his early 40's (while I am not there yet...as my brother likes to remind me I am close 😱). I was a sophomore in high school when he had first heart attack. I can't count the number of coronary stents he had placed. By the time I was an adult, he lost his leg, his eye sight, and had a stroke. He passed away at the young age of 56 (but that is a whole other post)! This is the best reason I should have to be the healthiest I can be. But like I said,  I need for it to be easy! I am a busy full time working momma with a  husband who is a full time fireman (gone 24 hours... Sometimes 48 in a row)  and with a part time job as well. This is also why I am a list maker. It makes me calm and less anxious . While making the kids dinner last night I got down to business. I needed snacks to keep me from feeling like I was starving to death. I can eat in the cafeteria at work, so I am not too concerned with packing my lunch. I just will need tunnel vision to avoid the donuts and cookies....and the pizza ! Here are a few of my snacks I have prepped to grab and go in the mornings!

Not sure if you can see, but I wrote the number of points the rice crisps were. You know, to make it easy!!

These turkey, avocado and hummus rollups are yummy!! Only 3 points at that.

Carrot cake muffins (kid tested and approved) and only 1 whole point. You can find recipe here:

Breakfast was only 2pts.
A salad with fat free ranch (added hot sauce - my friend's tip for me to take away the nasty fat free taste), grilled chicken and cooked broccoli- 6 pts.

I can do this!! Right?! Today is going to prove to be my greatest test. We are having a baby shower for a co-worker. You know that there is going to be all kinds of yummy goodness. Gotta find my balance!!

Kiddos eating their healthy dinner (if you don't count the canned tomato soup. Hey, I can't be perfect. I am just realistic. After working all day and coming home to homework, bath, and dinner all while daddy is at the firehouse is exhausting!! How many points is a glass of wine. ?
