Feeling the Burn

So I think we have established how busy a mom can be. Whether you work outside of the home or stay at home, it can be hard to find time to fit in a workout! Dear Lord, I struggle here. Add in the fact that all winter my shoulder was hurting, made for not much exercising . I am trying to get back in the good habit of working out again . But with mine and Nick's crazy schedules (if he is working he isn't home at the end of my work day to hand the kids off to like a normal 9-5 husband....well if there was a such thing as a "normal" husband ;) ) it is too hard to go any where to get a good workout in. Most places don't have child care close to me...besides the fact the last thing I want to do after picking up both kids at the end of the day is loading them back up to go work out. Then it is frowned upon to leave the kids in the house alone after they are in bed to take a quick walk ( and yes I could take them with me but a certain little sweet boy doesn't want to ride in his stroller anymore ). Don't need social services called on me 😂 . It was making me very grumpy and affecting my moods to the point that I knew I needed to find something that would work for me. I love Zumba and attended classes when Max was a baby and Meredith was a little younger . I like to stick to a routine at night though. Unfortunately that routine doesn't allow for a workout at a gym or zumba studio.   When we get home from work/school it is homework time for Meredith if she didn't complete in aftercare or study for a test, dinner, baths, and in bed by 7:30.... No later than 8. They have to be up and out the door in the mornings by 6am. Any later of a bedtime just wrecks havoc on our mornings. Doesn't leave a lot of time to even let them play. There are always exceptions to this routine with games or practices but we pretty much stick to it as best as we can. Summertime is a lot more laid back . Needless to say, I am ready for school to be out! So back to the whole working out thing . It wasn't happening. But then I decided I needed to quit with the excuses and went on YouTube (you can find anything on there 😳) and googled Zumba. I have found several videos but this by far is my fave and I get a good workout in as well.

My kitchen makes the perfect Zumba area. I wonder what the neighbors think when they see me through the window breaking it down!! I have decided I like Zumba more than any other workout because it reminds me of cheerleading and I can pick it up fairly quickly !

5, 6, 7, 8 who do we appreciate ? Oops getting sidetracked with channeling my inner cheerleader!!

Now the struggle is making myself wake up at 4:30 am and busting it out before work or as soon as I get home and Meredith is working on homework . On the days Nick is home I need to take advantage of this warm weather and try to walk/run. But if you're like me most of the time and need to find a quick workout to do while kids are entertaining themselves or after bedtime check out the you tube link!

Weight Watcher update: If you remember I joined weight watchers last Monday. The first few days were a struggle. But I am officially 5 lbs. down!! Woo hoo!!!!
