So how do I stay organized or "pretend" to have my act half way together playing a mommy, wife, and Mammo tech who works 4 sometimes 5 days a week? Well, I like to think of myself as a very organized person (control freak is more like it) . Think is the key word here! Some days I feel like I can barely survive until the next day without wanting to jump off the cliff I am dangling on. Just ask the Hubs! There have been many of times I have called him when he has been on a long 24 hr shift that turns into a 48 long, very long shift and needed to be talked in to backing up from the ledge! I make lists for my lists. If I don't have 2 or 3 lists going it may cause me to have a panic attack...for real! list making gives myself the allusion that I have a grasp on things and feel less anxious....( Also freshly vacuumed carpet with lines also brings my stress level down as well as a 7p bedtime for the kids! 😳 ) My husband works 2 jobs, I work full time (I have also been picking up at my old job...gotta pay for Disney somehow), and then you add in the kids stuff. Meredith has soccer practice and games right now. Max goes to an in home sitter 2 days a week and the other 2 days to the catholic school Meredith is at for daycare/pre-school. Also, Nick drops Meredith off a few times a week to school and the other days I drop her off to car pool with another mother. Oh and these days are never the same each week (that would make life too easy if those things were the same days each week! We like to do things the hard way over at our house!! And hence the color coordination of certain events in the calendar ). Being a working momma and still having all the responsibilities at home is just plain hard. There is just so much to do at the end of a work day or heck before your work day even starts (let's see like filling up your gas that is currently sitting on E ... You know the gas you knew was on E the day before but for some reason you didn't get it. Probably wasn't on my list. But now I can add Starbucks and gas to the next days). Now can you see why my head spins constantly?! I need to know what is going on when!
Yes. I still use a planner! I can't survive without it. I have forgotten it at work before and have felt like my right arm was missing. It's that vital!
Every Sunday I make a weekly list. That way I can have it readily available (it hangs on fridge) and can see where kids are on what day and just what is going on when. It also is supposed to help Nick know as well (that is yet to be determined)!! Plus these Lilly Pulitzer weekly lists are adorable!! I found mine at Dillards. But you can also find here:
I also keep another copy in my planner. I like to see my week broken down! A little OCD...maybe! It's ok. The first step is admitting the problem! Apparently I should have added to put the towels in the dryer for Wednesday. But then would have had to add fold clothes in dryer. But dang it, I just didn't feel like it! (I never understood how my mom could complain so much about laundry growing up. I
remember thinking to myself that it really couldn't be THAT bad. Yea. We are even in the universe now! 😩) so instead I can add to Thursday :
1. Rewash towels
2. Fold clothes in dryer
3. Put them all away

You can't miss it hanging here!
All my lists might be a little much for some. That's ok. Whatever works for you! What tips do you momma's (or dads, heck whoever lol) have for keeping it all together?
xoxo
