Party planning for the birthday/first communion girl

Trying to check a few things off my to do list this week! I feel like I have a 101 things to accomplish before the weekend! My to do list is a mile long! At the top of my list is to get things in order for Meredith's First Communion / 8th birthday party! I had an idea in my head of what I wanted her party to look like. I wanted a sweet vintagey feel! So off to Pinterest for all the party idea goodness that I could find!

One of my dad's favorite flowers to decorate with was baby's breath. I wanted to incorporate that as well. The day of her first communion also happens to fall on the anniversary of his passing. I got mason jars and ordered little doileys from etsy that I glued on. Now all I need to do is add the baby's breath on Sat.  Also, on etsy I was able to find some really cute decorations from this shop. Also, Dad always  made bourbon slushes for any important party growing up. So, I decided I was going to make that too!!

I also loved the idea of writing little blessing to Meredith from the guests! In Target's "$100 section" as I refer to their dollar section. I mean, is it just me, or can anyone else spend more than they intended to in a hot second just from this section alone. Target knows what they are doing!! Anyway,  I was
able to find silver buckets to use for this idea . Plopped a doiley on them as well to add a little something extra! Making a few garlands to hang around!

I have the most awesome cookie lady! These cookies are to die for. Here is what I sent her that I wanted for the party. I can't wait to see how they turn out! We will also have a cake! The birthday girl will need to blow out a candle to make her wish! I have a feeling I know what that wish is lol. The girl is obsessed with wanting a baby sister! In fact, on Friday she wanted to know if she was the only person in "in this house who loves babies". Sometimes I think she is 16 and not almost 8!

I love bringing all my ideas together and seeing the finished product!! Next week I will make sure to post pics of her sweet party!

And just for fun, a picture from my First Communion many, many years ago. Pictured are my 2 grandfathers and my priest, Father Keller. The baby in the background is my "little" brother!!
