Fireman's Ball // Mere's Play

Happy Monday ya'll. I am off today.  I am happy to have today to recover from a busy weekend and to prepare to work the next 5 days! We had a super busy weekend. Meredith was in her school's production of Granny's Secret Recipe both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday Nick and I went to the Fireman's Ball that the Ladies Auxillary puts together. They did an AMAZING job as usual. We had a blast! Maybe too much fun haha. Get ready for some picture overload!!

First up though how cute is my little fox?! This is her 3rd year being part of St. Cecilia's Drama Club. Each February they do a play and this year the younger kiddos took part in Granny's Secret Recipe. It was so cute and they did a great job. Then the older kids followed up with Into the Woods. There are so many talented students. I am really happy Meredith can be a part of this. I feel like it has brought her out of her shell.

As soon as the play was over on Saturday, I went to get my hair all fancied up and Nick headed to the Hotel Covington where we were staying so we didn't have to drive home after the Ball. Holy Cow, this place is out of this world. We all said we wanted to move in. It was so luxurious. If you can book a night here, do it. You will not be disappointed. The décor is very modern. Plus there are so  many cool places to go in Covington for a night on the town. Oh and this hotel thinks of EVERYTHING to make your stay more fun !!

Breakfast in Bed Sunday morning. Why not end the weekend with some room service?! Go to Hotel Covington! It will refresh you soul!

 

 

 

I met Nick at the hotel after my hair appointment to finish getting ready and several of our friends met us too for a little pre game in our room with some snacks and drinks. The Ball was held at the Radisson in Covington as well. We started the night with an opening ceremony followed by food, LOTS of drinks, and dancing. It is so fun to get dressed up and forget all the responsibilities that are a constant stress. I almost felt like Cinderella on Sunday morning as I was getting ready to head back home lol. Nick had to get up and go to work that morning so I slept in and ordered room service and started to feel semi normal again. But what a fun night!!

 

Dress is from Rent The Runway

This is not the original dress I Chose. My dress came Thursday and it most definitely was not what I ordered. It did not look good on me AT ALL!! I called them all frantic and said I needed a dress by the next day! This was my 2nd choice when I was trying to decide which one to go with. RTR was great though. I had this dress by the next day!! I am glad my original choice wasn't available after all. But at that moment of panic I sure wasn't. The best part of this dress was that it had pockets. I think all dresses should have pockets. Def a must have ya'll!!

 

 

 

 

Steph and I didn't have to worry about our lipstick coming off!! This is after dinner and several drinks! Thanks Lipsense!!

 

My friends are gorgeous. I am so lucky to call these women close friends. Being a fire wife is not easy. They make it more fun and bearable when it gets to you!

Ended our night with the best pizza in the Cov! Goodfella's is located in Main Straus and super yummy especially after a night out!!

 

So after a fun weekend Cinderella is back at it!

President's day Weekend

This weekend was glorius. Talking about getting a taste of Spring. The only downfall is this crazy weather is it is messing with poor Mere's allergies and has had a bad cough. To celebrate Catholic school's week our bishop gave our school off last Friday! It gave the kids a 4 day weekend! While the kids were excited it is a pain for working momma's like me ! Luckily my mom came up and babysit the kids. Mere pretty much did nothing but relax and didn't get to enjoy the beautiful weather friday or sat! Once nick got home from the firehouse Saturday morning we took a ride and got breakfast in Covington!! That was probably the high light of our day haha. Except the Kentucky game that came on later that evening ! It was a close game and the CATS were trying to give me a hear t attack .

Received a bunch of Lipsense over the weekend. packaged them all up and sent to the lucky receipients!!!

Nick was going through his old basketball and baseball cards and found this gem. Travis Ford was my first love. lol. He is probably my all time favorite Kentucky player!

Sunday I picked up a few hours at work . (Lots of travel plans this summer and winter that gotta be paid for ). I got in walk before i left . Mere had her last basketball game of the season! #20 had a great season and improved so much! I love watching her and her team !

Monday Max and I ran some errands and he was quite the helper ! He had to push the cart and put all our items in it as well. Then when I got starbucks, he had to have Starbucks (kids hot chocalate ). Mere had play practice for a couple hours but once we picked her up we headed to the park. We did the walking trail and of course the kids had to swing.

Now back into the swings of things and to work!! Hoping the week passes fast. Saturday is our Fire ball. I am looking forward to a night out and a stay in a hotel room with no kids to jump in bed during the middle of the night. haha.

Rent the Runway

Last year I discovered Rent the Runway from a friend . I needed a dress for the annual Fireman's Ball. I loved the dress I chose so much and had a great experience that I decided I was going to give it another go. I have been on RTR's site multiple times trying to narrow down the perfect dress. Here are a couple choices!!

I love that I can choose 2 sizes when ordering and how many days I need to rent it for. I also love the fact that when looking at the dresses you can go to the review section . There customers post pictures of themselves in the dress . This way I can see if someone has the same body type as me and try to decide if the dress will be flattering on me as well. Because let's be honest. It is hard to decide if a dress is going to look great on you as it does on a stick thin model! The dress is then delivered to your door step and retuning it couldn't be any easier . They include everything you need . I can't wait to show you which dress I went with!!
