We slept in a little later than I wanted to! But the more we went into our week the harder it was to get up! I was up by 8 and the rest of the crew by 8:30. I went and snagged some donuts from the food court and COFFEE! Magic kingdom cannot be done without caffeine .... And lots of it! (Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.) We were on the bus by 9am though. It was Standing room only but we made it on without having to wait on another bus. I cannot say enough great things about Disney transportation. We have never waited more than 20 or 30 minutes for a bus. As soon as we got to Magic Kingdom we took the obligatory pics in front of the castle and surrounding (much to my kids and Hubby's dismay.... Let's just say they were over all the pics by day 5!) It was already crowded in front of the castle but if you moved to the side of the castle near the grassy side or around to a fence area you got an awesome shot! Those ended up being my favorite pics of us with The castle in the background. Another family even said we they saw what we were doing that was a great idea and asked if we would take one of them! One thing I am glad we did was get to the park both days when it opened. It was way less crowded. We were able to ride rides without too big of lines. An added bonus to staying on Disney was being able to nap in the afternoon when it was most crowded and HOT! We then started in tomorrowland and rode buzz lighter ! I think this is one of my faves . Then the people mover and carousel of progress! We then spotted the character buzz lighter ! Max was super excited so needless to say we went over for pics and an autograph. Buzz even played with Max's buzz light year toy . It was so cute to watch. We had a fast pass at 10am for Cinderella ! They also go to see princess aurora . The princesses were so sweet and I am glad we decided to see them. Meredith has told me since we booked the Disney trip that she was too big for the princesses. But changed her mind once we go there! (Momma is glad she did). By now it is 11 and we are starving. We ate lunch at Pinocchio's . Right as we were finishing up it started to pour! I mean pour cats and dogs people!! So we hung out a little longer . It let up enough that we decided to brave it! I threw on a ball cap and said to hell with having a good hair day! The lines died down some and we took advantage and rode Winnie the Pooh. It was such a cute ride! Even the kids enjoyed it (mere said it was going to be stupid.... The sass on this girl is for real )! We had another Fast pass for splash mountain. We weren't sure if Max would end up riding it but he said he wanted to. We kept asking the whole way over and each answer was an emphatic yes! And he did it! This time with no tears! He was so proud of himself and kept high fiving us! This was the kids favorited ride. We had an hour to kill before our last fast pass. We had passed woody and Jesse on our way to splash mountain so we took a chance and went back! Sure enough they were still there . It only took about 15 minutes and we were able to snag autographs and pics with them as well. We still had about 30 min before our next fast pass so we just found a spot and plopped down. Max and I took a walk and found dole whip! I couldn't say no to this tasty treat ! It counted as a snack credit too! Double bonus!! (If you come to Disney... Get dole whip! Get one each day!!) The kids and Nick shared it with me! At first kids didn't like but somehow it was gone within a few minutes . Our last fast pass was the Pirates of the Caribbean. This I think was nick's favorite! I liked it bc it was a nice place to relax and it was cool!! It was starting to cloud up again. The perfect time for naps back at the hotel before our big night back at the Magic Kingdom.
We woke up from naps and got ready for another fun evening . We decided to eat at the park. We were going to eat at casey's corner (mere says she didn't like hotdogs ... What?!) but decided on cosmic rays. I am glad we went with that choice because we had the best view of the castle while we ate. Max begged to ride a few more rides and wanted splash mountain so bad! But first we had to use a fast pass for pirates! We rode it THREE times!! The kids and Nick rode splash mountain three times as well!! I went and got Starbucks so I could make it for the fireworks! I had a surprise for the kids. My good friend Amy told me about the wish's fireworks dessert party! This is held at the Tomorrowland Terrance. I am so glad she did !! This was the highlight of our trip!! Our view of the castle was literally spectacular ! The bonus was getting to sit and enjoy it and not stand in a crowd shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other people! Oh and we got yummy desserts and drinks! I had tears in my eyes during the light show on the castle! We had looked forward to this trip for months and months and this meant it was coming to an end !! If you have the chance to obtain reservations to the dessert party you won't regret it!!
Only doing two days at the Magic Kingdom I think was the perfect amount of time for our family especially for first time Disney rookies. But I do wish maybe we would have had another day there. Or maybe gone as soon as we arrived at Disney on Day 1 for half a day. I think nick would have liked to have gone to another park. I will definitely take these things into consideration when we plan our next trip!
