1st day of school

And just like that summer is over! The kids went back to school on Tuesday. I have mixed feelings about the start of school. I am sad summer is over and the end of pool days and late bed times. I am very much a person who needs routine though, and I think my kids do to. I am dreading homework. I mean, I had a hard enough time with 2nd grade math. 3rd grade math will probably be enough to send me to the looney bin. Max is back at St. Cecilia as well. I just love his teachers and they love him!!

Back to early bedtimes!!
I started at 7:30 and they weren't asleep until 9! Lord help me

So far I have been fortunate and have been able to take off the 1st day of school since Mere was in Kindergarten. I want to be able to do the drop off and pick up on their first day at least. This is probably also the only morning they will get a somewhat decent breakfast. The rest of the year it is grab and go!! That is if I remember! Don't judge! Mornings are hard especially on days I work and I have to take the kids to 2 different places. They have to be up at 5:30 and out the door no later than 6:10!

Some one was still sleepy! Guess he should have fallen asleep at 7:30 haha

1st day of school can't be started without the obligatory 1st day pics!! Max was not having it. I may or may not have bribed a smile for $1!!

Mere picked out these Nikes and similar bookbag

Probably only day she will let me fix her hair

I was a happy momma to hear that they both had a great first day. Meredith says her teacher is the "nicest teacher ever!" and had fun. Max was excited to tell me that he let his friends play with one of his toys. "Mommy I took turns!" Oh and he was so proud of himself for going to the potty at school. He has been potty trained since he turned 3 last Oct. (I was in no hurry especially if he is my last). But for some reason he wouldn't use the potty at school or the sitter last year. He would use it anywhere else as long as I or Nick was around. So this was a big deal and he got a sucker from his teacher to celebrate!! I took them out for ice cream to celebrate a wonderful 1st day. Fingers crossed and many prayers that the rest of the year goes as well as today!!
