10 years....

Sept. 16, 2006....the day we said I do. For better for worse. In sickness and health. Death do us part! 10 years! Looking back it was one of the happiest days of my life. I honestly could not wait to become Mrs. Nick Boots. I could not wait to start a life together , have babies together , and grow old together . Oh it was going to be all rainbows and butterflies ! Have I mentioned I was very sheltered and naïve ? I am not sure what planet I was living on with these expectations. First of all, I was marrying someone that had a child and ex wife. Right there should have been clue #1 that in itself would bring some difficulties along with the joy. But again I was very sheltered. I did not see how that would bring about problems. Then there is being a fire wife. Not only did my new husband have a full time job as a fireman but he also had a part time job with another department. There were a lot of times I felt like I was 2nd best. Then a couple years and throw in a few kids and other life struggles! And pow! There goes what was left of my fairy tale . Straight down the drain. But though all our struggles we have been so blessed. We have created a life I can't imagine without him. We never left each other's side when sometimes it might have been easier to say see ya later. We have fought to remain by each other's side . I could not do this crazy life without him. So here is to many more years of wedded bliss (and all the other crap that goes with it lol)!

Love taking a look back at our big day! We were married at 4:30 in the afternoon at the church I grew up in, St. Augustine. It truly was the wedding of what little girls dream of. My parents went above and beyond in giving us everything we could ever want. Every since I was a little girl and my 2 aunts went to church in my grandpa's Ford Model T on their wedding day, I knew I wanted the same. While I couldn't go in the Model T my dad made sure my bridesmaids and I went to church in old cars! Our reception was held at the Parkview Inn Bed and Breakfast. The street was blocked off so tables and chairs could be set up. That's how we roll in Augusta. We shut down streets! Oh and the best part, dad made sure all the guests had my favorite ice cream, Graeters Black Raspberry chip, as soon as they arrived. Dessert first always!! It was the most amazing day and the cherry on top was becoming Mrs. Nick Boots!!

Enjoy a look back!!

I love looking back at some of my favorite photos from that day! I wish we could do it all over again!!! Best. Day. Ever!!
