NYC 3 day Travel Guide {Christmastime}



Day 1
  • Take the earliest flight
  • Drop luggage off to hotel
  • subway to times square
  • Explore Broadway & Times Square
  • Carlos Bakery (625 8th Ave)
  • lunch around Times Square
  • walk to Rockefeller Center -will pass Radio City Music Hall and Giant Christmas Ornaments - 1251 6th ave (perfect photo op)

  • Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree & Ice Skating Rink
    5th Ave between 49th and 50th Streets
    New York, NY, 10020 // Hours: 8:30 am - 12 am // prices : adults - $32 , child under 11- $ 15, skate rental - $ 12
  • St. Patrick's Cathedral
  • Shopping: Bergdorf, Sephora, Madewell, Victoria Secret, American Girl Store, Lego Store, Nike, Louie, Saks, Top Shop
  • Dinner - lots of choices!! Also try Magnolia Bakery (1240 6th Ave)
  • Subway to 9/11 Museum
  • 9/11 museum 180 Greenwich St. // Hours Sun- Thurs 7:30a -9p (last entry at 6p), Fri-Sat. 9a-9p (last entry at 7p)// Admission: Adults - $24, Child 7-12 $15, Child 13-17 $20, US veteran $18
  • Back to Rockefeller Center to see tree at Night
Day 2
  • Breakfast : Wafles - Dinges Food Stand at Herald Square
  • Macy's on 34th Street:Santa Land(make reservations for your children in advance-lines similar to Disney !!)
  • Christmas Window Displays in front of Macy's
  • Walk to Little Italy/lunch at Lambardi's (32 Spring Street// CASH ONLY)
  • Explore Little Italy / Chinatown
  • take taxi to Plaza Hotel
  • At Plaza : pics by Christmas tree in Lobby
  • Carriage Rides : HOURS 10am -1am / 7th ave & 59th St. (across from Plaza)
  • Central Park
  • From Central Park walk to Natural History Museum (Central Park West @ 79th Street)
  • Dinner- Shake Shack 366 Columbus Avenue
    (at West 77th Street)
Day 3
  • subway to Penn Station- take subway E/ get off at 53rd /5th Ave
  • walk 2 blocks to Palace Hotel (take pics in front of tree)
  • Breakfast/brunch at Ellen's Star Dust Diner near Palace Hotel (1650 Broadway)
  • Head downtown to Staten island Ferry (4 South Street)
  • Take Ferry to take in the views of the New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty -best part it is FREE!! The perfect way to take in the majestic view of Lady Liberty in the winter!
  • take the subway to 9th ave and Chelsea Market (lots of Christmas Décor /shops/food)
  • Highline Park (above Chelsea Market)
NYC Christmas window Display Walking Self Tour - the Christmas displays are incredible to see. If you can fit this in your trip I would highly recommend. Along the way I have also included other things to do!!


  • First Stop:
Bloomingdale's- Lexington Ave (59th & 60th) - shop , coffee and sweet treat at Magnolia Bakery, and candy store at Dylan Candy Store


  • Second Stop:
walk 2 blocks west along 6th ave (cross park ave ) until Madison Ave to Barney's


  • Third Stop:
From Barney's walk along 61st or 60th until 5th ave. Take Pics in front of the Plaza Hotel. Bergdorf's Windows.  Cross 5th Ave and check out Tiffany's.


  • Fourth Stop :
Continue down 5th ave on the east side . Saks is on the way. If you have a little girl stop at the American Girl Store. Also Rockefeller Center is across the street.


  • Fifth Stop :
Continue along 5th ave for Lord and Taylor and NY Library and Bryant Park (winter village holiday shops. open til 10 pm)


  • Sixth Stop:
Continue along 5th ave to 34th street Macy's. Walk west 2 blocks towards Broadway .
