back to reality

We had a wonderful couple days spent in Augusta. But unfortunately it is back to reality and work! At least for the next couple days. If you ever have the chance to take the drive to Augusta to spend the day ...go! Or the night....stay at the Parkview Inn. There are several antique stores to shop the day away and lots of great places to eat. Or just sit on the riverbank and feel the summer breeze. Also, there is a winery!! It is called the Baker -Bird Winery. We left Sunday morning, but not before 1 more walk and bike ride. We stopped at the General Store for a late breakfast. We had plans of taking the kids to the pool since it was so hot. But let's just say the kids weren't on their best behavior while we were eating, so we went back to my mom's and pack our stuff and headed back to reality! But not before getting to ride the ferry boat. We would not have heard the last of it. Luckily we did that before their meltdowns. I think the late night from Saturday and the heat was getting to them. It didn't last near long enough. If I hadn't had to work Sunday evening I think we would have stayed an extra day. I think, though, we will plan another shorter trip in a few weeks. We work the rest of this week and have our first family camping trip this weekend!! I am excited and nervous all at the same time. haha. I just hope the kids will do a lot better than they did on our last day in Augusta. I don't know if not having them on a schedule since school has been out  has thrown them off or what. So needless to say, I made a bedtime routine that started Sunday evening that has them in bed each night between 9 and 9:30. I guess time will tell. Here are a few more pics from our last day!!
